Ironman St. George

A week ago Otto did an Ironman Triathlon in St. George, Utah. That is a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run. Easy peasy! So far 100% of our little Anderson family are Ironmen, but we will give the future baby Anderson a couple years before we start her training. This year it was over 90 degrees so mad props to Otto and my dad for hanging in there and making it across the finish line!

Our journey begins at registration on Thursday where Otto and dad got all tatted up.
Some people's numbers were more legible than others.

This is the swim course at Sand Hollow Reservoir. They go out and around that rock island, we went out for a test swim so Otto could get used to his wetsuit.

If you were wondering what Otto looks like in skin tight clothing...

I love a man in goggles.

This is our secret lair where they prepared their bags and bikes.

Race day! Early in the morning, these are all the bikes.

All suited up and ready to roll!

My favorite parents.

Two of my favorite men. Just two of them.

Anddddddd.... go!

Dad finished and grabbed his gear. He didn't even know we were watching him!

All the bags lined up ready for the athletes to take.

There he is!

The 112 mile bike ride begins right here.

Shelby and Andrew were there to cheer Otto on all day long.

Dad finishing the bike.

And a few short minutes later off on the run.

Otto returns!

Only to leave again. Parting is such sweet sorrow, especially when one of you has to run a marathon.

Out on the run course. It was so hot by this time!

And later in the day, talking with his new friend Patrick. They did almost the whole second half together.

Here he comes down the chute to the finish line! I was screaming!

I paid a lot of money to an Asian associate to take these pictures as he crossed the finish line.

With his new bling and blanket.

Not too tired to strike a pose.

Relaxing after the race. Hey old man, why so tired?

Here we are! Not my most beautiful moment, but I had a really hard day. Not that Otto would understand that.

Fin.
